Puah Wins Jewish Choice Award for Best of International Jewish GreatNon-Profits

New York — November 23, 2009 — Puah Institute, a global resource for fertility and women's health issues, has won the distinguished Jewish Choice Award, on greatnonprofits.org. Out of over 4,000 organization submissions, Puah won first place as the best of the international Jewish non-profits. Puah received the most reviews by members of the Jewish community who recognize the great contribution Puah has made in providing worldwide counseling, halachic and medical guidance, education and Halachic supervision for fertility issues.
“Winning the Great Non-Profits Jewish Choice Awards accentuates the vital role Puah plays within the Jewish community at large. We are delighted with the recognition our supporters have demonstrated in their overwhelming endorsements of Puah, and the recognition of our monumental mission of bringing new life into this world,” said Lea P. Davidson, executive director of Puah’s USA branch. “We hope that these winning results will help to spread the word and catapult us into the consciousnesses of Jewish communities nationwide.”

Puah Institute is unique in the extent of its knowledge within the field of Medicine and Jewish Law. Many couples face insurmountable challenges in their quest to build a family; Puah addresses infertility with finesse, sensitivity and expertise.

“Puah showed utmost sensitivity to us when we needed their assistance. Since difficulties in child bearing is a most delicate issue and creates a tremendous strain on young couples and their families they treated us with kid gloves”, posted one person who was helped via Puah.

From a supporter, “In a community as insular and private as ours is, it is a formidable task to be sensitive enough, medically well connected enough, knowledgeable enough in Jewish Law and its intricacies, and trained in human psychology enough, to be able to reach out and be of assistance. Yet Puah seems to have mastered the skills and necessary factors . . . Being part of a family where 2 of my siblings gave birth through IVF treatments, I appreciate what it means. Our community is blessed to have such dedicated, serious people devoted to bringing the latest technology "down to earth".

A Rabbi at yeshiva.org.il penned, “We receive many Jewish halachic questions about marital relationships from around the world and Rabbi Gideon Weitzman from Machon Puah, answers them very clearly.

Halachic and medical guidance and halachic supervision of treatment is available throughout the world. For more information contact Puah at: www.puahonline.org.
